The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 match at Jacksonville State today.  The Lady Mocs took three singles matches but could not pull out the win against the Gamecocks.  With the loss, UTC falls to 2-5 on the season while JSU improves to 3-5.

Chattanooga took the first doubles match with freshman Jenna Nurik and junior Grace Robinette teaming up for an 8-2 win over Raphaela Wenzel and Kristen Fuller.  JSU grabbed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

JSU went up 2-0 when Kimberly Ferris defeated Robinette 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 5 match.  Sophomore Shaina Singh put UTC on the board with a win at No. 3.  However, JSU won the next two matches at No. 2 and No. 4 to close out the dual.

UTC got wins from Nurik at No. 1 and freshman Jennifer Taylor at No. 6 to pull the final score to 4-3.  It was Nurik's third straight singles win.  She and Singh remained tied for the team lead with 11 singles wins on the season.

UTC remains on the road this week, traveling to UNC Greensboro on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) match.  The Lady Mocs will also visit Elon at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday on the North Carolina swing.
