Opening thoughts:
"It's tough, it was a battle out there today. We played great doubles. We've played four matches this week and won the doubles every time. But we knew every singles would be a battle and it was. It would've been nice to get one of the singles we lost to a third set and let conditioning play into it a little bit."
On the two singles victories:
"What a great come-from-behind win at the No. 1 singles by Jenna Nurik. She went 8-0 this week as a freshman, very impressive. She showed a lot of fight and a lot of composure. Charlotte Bossy had her best match of the season. She beat a very solid player. She showed a will to win that hopefully our whole team can get a hold of."
On carrying over the doubles momentum into singles:
"The doubles is a spring the singles is a marathon. The reality is, every match is different. We didn't play badly in singles. UAB was just better than us. It just would have been better to extend one of those straight set losses into three sets."
On what needs fixing to get that extra point:
"We just have to show a little more fight, a little bit more resolve. Now that we're in the outdoor portion of the season, the points are longer and sometimes heat can be a factor. You've always got sun and you've always got wind. Going outside requires a lot more discipline and a lot more hustle. We just need that from all six singles players all the time because all the teams on our schedule are very good. Nothing comes easy at this level."
