Lady Mocs Fall to Davidson 6-1 in Season Finale

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis tem closed out the 2009-10 season with a 6-1 loss at Davidson today.  The Lady Mocs won two matches in the season finale. 

Chattanooga finishes with a 9-13 overall record and 3-7 in Southern Conference action.  The Lady Mocs improved their win total by one over last season's final record.  Davidson improved to 15-6 overall and 7-2 in the SoCon. 

Senior Beata Knizat and Annie Green battled to a 9-8 win over Samantha Galainena and Ali Gores in doubles action at No. 3.  They finished the season 9-2 as a tandem.  Despite the win, Chattanooga fell behind 1-0 after losing the other two doubles matches.

UTC scored its only point of the match at No. 2 singles.  Sophomore Shaina Singh scored her 19th win of the year when Teresa Wang was forced to retire after three games. 

Freshman Jenna Nurik dropped her final match but still managed a 21-9 singles mark in her first collegiate season.
