The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team travels to Florida for a pair of non-conference matches this week.  The Lady Mocs visit Stetson on Wednesday, March 16 and Rollins on Thursday, March 17.

Chattanooga is riding a three-match winning streak and is 5-4 overall.  It is the Lady Mocs' best start through nine matches since the 1999 season.  UTC is also tied for fourth place in the Southern Conference with a 2-1 record in league play.

The Lady Mocs narrowly missed their fourth win in a row last week at Lipscomb.  Up 3-0 in the team score, sophomore Jenna Nurik (Roswell, Ga.) was leading 30-0 and 5-2 in the match-clinching game when the rains came.  Chattanooga was literally two minutes away from securing the win but the contest was washed out and not rescheduled.

Nurik, the 2010 SoCon Freshman of the Year, has won three straight singles matches at No. 1 and is 5-4 in spring action at the top spot.  She is also one of three Lady Mocs in double-figures with a 10-9 record on the year.

Freshman Alexa Flynn (Memphis, Tenn.) leads the team with a 12-5 overall singles record.  She is 2-2 since moving up to No. 2 in the lineup.  Junior Emily Hangstefer (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) is on a two-match winning streak for the first time this spring.  She is 7-11 overall and 2-2 since being penciled in at No. 3.

Junior Shaina Singh (Vancouver, B.C.) is the third Lady Moc with 10 wins.  She has won three in a row at No. 4 to improve to 10-9 on the season.  She is 5-4 in spring action, all coming at No. 4.

Junior Charlotte Bossy (Koekelare, Belgium) has won two-straight, and is 4-4 in the spring.  She is 3-1 at No. 5 and 1-3 in the sixth position.  Senior Annie Green (Alpharetta, Ga.) has also won two-straight.  She is 6-4 overall and 2-1 since entering the lineup at No. 5 and No. 6 this spring.

Nurik and Singh make up UTC's top doubles team.  They have won three straight and are 6-3 in the spring, 11-5 overall.  Hangstefer and Flynn are 5-4 in dual action, having won two in a row.

Stetson brings a 12-1 overall record and a five match-winning steak.  Its only loss on the year was a 4-3 setback to Campbell on March 5.  Match time is set for 2:30 p.m. (E.D.T.) in DeLand, Fla., and live scoring will be available on GoMocs.com.

Rollins is 10-2 overall and ranked No. 10 in the latest ITA NCAA Division II polls.  First serve against the Tars is set for 3:30 p.m. in Winter Park, Fla.
