Lady Mocs Stumble at College of Charleston 7-0

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss at the College of Charleston this afternoon.  The Lady Mocs still got a split on their Southern Conference weekend road trip, thanks to yesterday's 4-3 win at Georgia Southern.  The defeat drops UTC to 9-8 overall and 4-3 in SoCon play. 

Junior Shaina Singh (Vancouver, B.C.) and sophomore Jenna Nurik (Roswell, Ga.) were the lone bright spot on the day.  They moved up to No. 1 doubles and posted an 8-6 win over the Cougars' (13-7, 5-0 SoCon) Emma Hayman and Irene Viana.  Singh and Nurik improve to 17-6 in doubles action, including 12-4 in dual match competition. 

The Lady Mocs travel to UAB on Thursday, April 7, before returning home to face Davidson on Sunday, April 10.  Match time against the Wildcats is set for 1:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) at the UTC Tennis Courts and live scoring will be available on  Chattanooga will also host the 2011 SoCon Tennis Championships at the Champions Club on April 20-23.
