Match time against the NAIA Flames is set for 2:30 p.m. (E.D.T.) on the UTC Tennis Courts. This is a makeup contest from a rainout earlier in the season. A link for live scoring is available on the women’s tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
The Lady Mocs have won five of their last six matches and are 14-3 overall. UTC enters the week in sixth place in the Southern Conference race at 4-3.
Chattanooga is two wins away from equalling last year’s total. The last time UTC had 17 wins in a season was 1999 when it went 17-6 under first-year head coach Jeff Clark.
Georgia Southern is 6-10 overall and 2-5 in SoCon action. First serve is set for Noon on Saturday, April 6, and a link for live scoring is available on the women’s tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
The Lady Mocs have won three straight in the series and hold an all-time record of 12-13 against the Eagles. Chattanooga posted a 6-1 win in last year’s meeting on March 11.
UTC will try to snap a 10-match losing streak to the Cougars on Sunday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. The last time the Lady Mocs defeated the College of Charleston was a 5-2 win on March 3, 2002. UTC is 5-16 all-time against CofC and has never won in Charleston.
The Cougars are 12-8 overall and third in the SoCon at 4-1. CofC was ranked No. 75 in last week’s ITA listing, but split with No. 68 Elon (2-5) and No. 70 UNCG (7-0).
Freshman Kelsey Coots (Huntsville, Ala.) looks to continue her strong play over the last three weeks. She has won six straight singles matches and five in a row in doubles. Her doubles partner, junior Alexa Flynn (Memphis, Tenn.), is also on a run, winning five consecutive singles matches.
