University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior Claire Mulyadi is the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played Feb. 17-23, the league office announced today. She won the clinching singles matches for the Mocs last week as UTC picked up wins over Mercer (6-0) and Middle Tennessee State (5-2).
Mulyadi posted a straight-sets win (6-2, 6-1) over Mercer’s Natalie Franklin to move to 5-1 in singles play this spring. The Semarang, Indonesia, native then rallied for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 victory over MTSU’s Irina Constantinide at No. 5 singles.
In doubles play, Mulyadi was paired with Kelsey Coots as the No. 3 team for the Mocs. Mulyadi and Coots posted an 8-0 win over MTSU’s Flavia Nagayama and Sarah Sediri in their first completed doubles match together, bringing her doubles record to 4-2 this spring.
Chattanooga’s scheduled match with Lee University on Wednesday, Feb. 26 has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast. UTC’s next match is Friday, Feb. 28, against UAB at 2:00 p.m. on the UTC Tennis Courts. A link or live scoring is available on the women’s tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
