The Lady Mocs got wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to clinch the point and take a 1-0 lead. Hangstefer and Grace Robinette defeated Haley Baird and Sabrina Smyers 8-1 at No.2 and Shaina Singh and Annie Green clinched the point with an 8-4 win over Sonia Anand and Kristin Demosthenes at No. 3.
The Lady Mocs took a 2-0 lead with a win by Jennemieke van der Veek over Ashley Lawrence 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Baird cut it to one with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3 over UTC’s Charlotte Bossy and then the Terriers tied it up 2-2 with a 6-2, 6-2 win by Anand at No. 5 over Green.
Shaina Singh put the Lady Mocs up 3-2 with a hard-fought three-set win at No. 1, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, over Cayley Wetzig. Hangstefer would clinch the match for UTC in a come-from-behind win at No. 4 avenging the Lady Mocs 5-2 loss to the Terriers last season in
Brianna Wishing gave the Lady Mocs a fifth point with her first dual match win of the season at the No. 6 position, defeating Betsy Hauer 6-3, 6-1.
