Women's Tennis Hosts Pair Over Weekend

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women’s tennis team will play host to Southern Conference foe Davidson on Saturday followed by a non-conference match with Western Kentucky Sunday afternoon. Both matches will be at the UTC Tennis Courts.

 

The Lady Mocs are 4-9 on the year and 1-3 in league action with a 5-2 decision against Wofford. Freshman Shaina Singh leads Chattanooga with a 6-7 mark at the No. 1 position.

 

Davidson is 5-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play with a 7-0 win over Western Carolina. The Wildcats Virginia Berry leads Davidson with a 7-5 record at the No. 2 singles spot.

 

The match is set to begin at Noon at the Tennis Courts located beside the McKenzie Arena on the UTC campus.

 

Western Kentucky is 9-4 overall after suffering a loss to Belmont on Thursday. The Hilltoppers are led in singles by Marlou VanBussel who is a combined 10-0 at Nos. 2 and 3. The match is slated to start at 2 p.m. at the UTC Tennis Courts.
