Mocs' Teter Named to CoSIDA All-District Team

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Mocs volleyball senior Christina Teter (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) was named to the Capitol One Academic All-District III First Team Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America. It is the second year in a row the middle blocker has been earned a spot on the CoSIDA All-District First Team.

Required to have above a 3.0 grade point average and to have played in more than half of the season's matches, Teter excelled in each category as the biology major carries a 4.0 GPA and has appeared in all 29 matches for Chattanooga.

The Signal Mountain, Tenn., native has played in 100 sets and leads the Mocs offense with 238 kills, averaging 2.38 kills per set. Teter also stands tall on defense, leading UTC with 75.0 blocks including a team-best 15 solo blocks.

In four years at Chattanooga, Teter has amassed 721 kills to put her within the top 20 all-time at UTC in career kills, and her 213 career blocks has her just 23 blocks out of the top 10 all-time at UTC. The senior ranks 10th all-time with 44 career blocks at Chattanooga.

Teter and the Mocs (12-17, 6-8 SoCon) travel to Cullowhee, N.C., Friday evening to take on Western Carolina (8-21, 4-10 SoCon) in search of their first postseason berth since 2008. Chattanooga and the Catamounts square off at 6 p.m. and will wrap up the regular season Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. against the Appalachian State Mountaineers (7-21, 3-11 SoCon) in Boone, N.C.
