Mocs assistant volleyball coach Adam McLamb comes to Chattanooga after spending the last two seasons with the University of New Hampshire.
Volleyball Adds McLamb to Coaching Staff

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Volleyball Head Coach Travis Filar announced Thursday the addition of assistant Adam McLamb to the Mocs coaching staff.  McLamb joins Filar along with fellow assistant coach Savanah Stansell and volunteer assistant coach Duane Hill.

“We are excited to bring Adam to Chattanooga,” Filar said. “He has a lot of experience and it will be great to have a new set of coaching eyes on the court.  He has coached collegiately for four seasons – with two years at New Hampshire and two at Virginia Tech – and we are so thankful that he is coming in with such great experience.”

Adam will work mainly with Chattanoogas’ pin hitters and instruct the passing game while aiding in speeding up the team’s tempo.

McLamb spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant at Virginia Tech after serving as a graduate assistant at the University of New Hampshire from 2010-12.

“Meeting with Travis, Savanah and the team was what really drew me to Chattanooga,” McLamb said. “They are building a great volleyball culture and want to do things the right way.  They have done a great job so far, and I hope to help add on to what they have already built. I want to help turn this into a championship program.”

Before moving to the collegiate level, McLamb coached juniors for the Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club of Virginia Beach, Va.

As a student-athlete, Adam played club volleyball at both New Hampshire and his alma mater - Radford.  As a setter, his UNH team claimed the NCVF Division 1-AA National Championship.  McLamb was named a First Team All-Tournament performer.

McLamb, a native of Chesapeake, VA., started playing volleyball in eighth grade and was a four-year letterwinner at Great Bridge High School. He earned all-state honors as a setter during his senior campaign.  Adam received his degree in Exercise Sports Health with a focus in Sports Medicine from Radford in 2006.  He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Kinesiology.
