The summer consists of six camps from June 25-July 28 along with a skill specific training day set for June 27.
The Mocs’ first camp of the season is a libero camp on Wednesday, June 25 for ages 12-18. Campers will improve their game with serving and serve receiving exercises. Passing, defensive movements, digging, floor skills, coverage and out of system setting will also be emphasized in the session.
The following day is tailored for setters and hitters. The second camp, June 26, will focus on setters, both left and right side hitters, and middle blockers. Participants will have the chance to put their training to the test in match-like drills.
The Skill Specific Training Day, for those ages 10-18, is June 27 and includes three sessions. Athletes are welcome to register for all three sessions. Campers can choose from serving, passing/defense or attacking/setting during the event.
Camp three will be hosted a month later, July 23-24, as Maclellan Gym hosts the All-Skills Camp. For younger athletes, ages 9-14, the camp will cover all fundamental volleyball skills to give those just beginning a jump start in the sport.
An advanced skills camp is set for July 23-24, as well, aimed toward those more experienced in the game. For those ages 14-18, the camp is designed for high school and club athletes.
Little Mocs Day Camp is scheduled for July 28 for those ages 5-10. The camp will introduce volleyball skills to those just starting out in a fun environment.
The final camp of the season is set for July 25-27 and is the High School Team Camp. There, the six-session camp will focus on individual skill, training by position and a chance to tune-up the team’s offensive and defensive positions. A minimum of eight players is required and no more than 12.
All camps , excluding the Little Mocs camp, come with t-shirts. Walk-up registration is available, however, registration is on a first come, first serve basis. A $10 late fee will be charged to all registrations coming within five days of the event.
