As a team, the Lady Mocs continue to lead the nation in digs at 23.0 per game and the conference at 23.28. UTC also allows the third lowest hitting percentage in the Southern Conference, limiting opponents to a .152 percentage.
Furman (18-6, 11-3) has won five of their last six matches, with the one exception being a 3-2 loss to surging Appalachian State on October 23. The Paladins enter Friday night’s contest following a narrow 3-2 victory over Wofford on Tuesday evening. Earlier this season they notched a key win over
Senior outside hitter Chibuzo Aguocha leads the way for Furman with averages of 4.11 kills and 2.98 digs per game while junior outside hitter Alison West adds 3.68 kills, 2.95 digs and 0.52 service aces per game. West also leads the Southern Conference in service aces with an average 0.69. Junior middle blocker Nicole Palazzo leads the conference with 1.48 blocks per game against Southern Conference foes and leads the Paladins with 1.46 blocks overall. She also adds 2.60 kills per game. Sophomore libero Stephanie Smith leads the team with 3.01 digs and is joined by junior libero Pamela Gehrke with 2.82 digs.
Furman holds the advantage in the all-time series, 30-19, and has won the last five meetings dating back to October 24, 2004. That stretch includes a 3-2 victory on October 6 of this year in
