Head Coach Wes Moore
Thoughts on the game
"I think the girls enjoyed it. I think those last 10 minutes were a little shaky because we turned it over a few times. I feel like we didn't shoot quite as well as we did in the first half, but there are a lot of things we can learn from that. We're going to go back, watch the film and see how we can cut some of those turnovers out. Alabama is a very athletic team and they really turned the heat up in the second half. They made it hard for us to run our stuff and get good looks at the basket. I credit Alabama for it getting ugly in the second half, but you have to look at how our kids hung in there, didn't hang their heads when things weren't going so well and really picked themselves up. Ka'Vonne Towns hit some big 3-pointers for us. She was three-for-three from the 3-point line. I thought that was big, and Taylor Hall had a nice scoring game. That was good to see, and Ashlen Dewart was Ashlen Dewart. She really stepped up when we had to have her, and Kylie Lambert really hung in there. I thought she had a very big and-one bucket against the press late in the game. It was a great team effort and we had four players in double figures."
On Ashlen Dewart's big second half
"We probably should have gone to her more, but we did a good job of getting her the ball in the second half. We need to spread out a little, get the ball to Ashlen or attack the basket a bit more. I will look at the film and see that there are things I could have done a better job of, but we need to enjoy beating an SEC team. That's not easy to do and this is a nice win for the program."
Thoughts on Chattanooga's rebounding
"Our kids played hard. We knew that Alabama was aggressive on the boards and attack the offensive boards really hard. They are hard to box out. There were times when they got a boxed out, but they were able jump over us and rip it out, but our team really stepped up and we won the rebound battle in the end. That is saying something against a team like this."
Thoughts on the Mocs offensive production
"We were knocking down a lot of shots in the first half. That makes it fun, no doubt, but you have to give Alabama credit because they didn't let us get comfortable in the second half. I thought Kayla Christopher was able to hit a big three to give us a little breather while they were on a big run. Like I said, there were a lot of people who hit a lot of big shots. Hall hit a lot of big shots for us in the first half."
