MR. 1,000
"Voice of the Mocs" Jim Reynolds is coming up on his 1,000th Chattanooga basketball game. His first was November 29, 1980, an 82-53 win over Maryville. UTC won its first of 18 regular-season titles that season. A coincidence? We think not. The school has won more than 600 games since Reynolds took over as "Voice of the Mocs" in 1980. He's in his 33rd season and will be celebrated at the February 21st game vs. UNCG.

- Mason has topped double digits in six straight and 11 of the last 12. Gee McGhee has 10 or more in five consecutive contests. McGhee had his first 20-point game with 22 against The Citadel while notching 19 points twice (WCU/GSU) averaging 17.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during that span.

- Mason is averaging 16.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over the last 15 shooting 49.7 percent (86-173) from the field, 32.4 percent (12-37) from three-point range and 74.0 percent (57-77) from the free throw line.

- Mason is posting 15.6 points and 7.2 boards per SoCon contest. McGhee has also elevated his play in the league slate averaging 13.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

- McGhee is shooting 59.2 percent from the free throw line for the year, but 70.1 percent in league play. His 125 FTA leads the SoCon.

- White is 10 FTM shy of 100 on the season. He would become the 28th Moc in the DI era to eclipse 100 FTM in a season. The last was Nicchaeus Doaks (2006-09) with 139 in 2008-09. He would be the 12th guard.

- White has been among the league leaders in FT% and attempts all year. Over his last 15, he's made 86.4 percent (57-66).

- White is averaging 10.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in his career against CofC (2 meetings). He is shooting 62.5 percent (5-8) from the field, 60.0 percent (3-5) from 3pt range and 100 percent (8-8) from the charity stripe.

MURRAY ARNOLD
The Chattanooga Mocs lost a legend on Nov. 14, 2012 as former Head Coach Murray Arnold passed away in Florida. He laid the DI championship foundation coaching for six years, 1980-85, with a 135-46 record. He coached collegiately at four institutions (Birmingham Southern, Western Kentucky and Stetson) amassing a 420-229 mark in 22 seasons. The Mocs captured four SoCon Championships in six UTC campaigns advancing to three NCAA Tournaments and two NITs reaching the Elite 8 (NIT) in 1985 and narrowly missing the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1982.
