Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes

Head Coach John Shulman
Thoughts on the game:|
"Jahmal Burroughs, Troy Cage getting 11 rebounds, Dontay Hampton playing 32 minutes and running our basketball team.  It was amazing.  This is a tough place to play and to get that close, it makes you sick."

On the play of Keegan Bell and Omar Wattad who were recovering from the flu.
"They had no flow.  We were up 26-20 and I put them in and they had no flow.  It's hard when you are starting and then have to come off the bench like that.  Keegan looked pale as a ghost."

Junior Ricky Taylor
Thoughts on the game:
"I was a major disappointment for us.  Our tea fought to the end.  We battled and we competed and just fought.  Unfortunately, it didn't go our way tonight.  We just look at the positive things Troy Cage did, Jahmal Burroughs, and Dontay Hampton.  We get that kind of support for the rest of the year and we will be just fine."

On feeling a need to step up with the other guys out:
"I still feel like I had to play my same role.  Even though Keegan and Omar were not there in practice, we still had the same offense.  We all had the same roles, it is just those other guys had to play more minutes.  We came out there and fought tonight and I am proud of those guys stepping up."

On the tough loss:
"It is a heartbreaker.  This is one of those when you go into the locker room and there were a few tears.  It broke heart because we had the right game plan.  We were down and came back.  We had the momentum and our adrenaline was running.  For it to not go our way was tough.  We can't let it get us down.  We have to focus on the game tomorrow.

Senior DeAntre Jefferson
On his foul trouble:
"I piled them up all in one little area.  I got the offensive foul and then another one on the other end.  It was just bad timing and it got me in the end."

On playing against WCU bigman Richie Gordon:
"I love playing against him.  We have the same body type and we both like to bang inside.  He is a great competitor and fun to go against."
