Head Coach Wes Moore
On the play of Alex Black:
"She was in foul trouble...so she ended up scoring 14 points in 15 minutes. She was definitely our leading scorer at a point per minute almost. We need to get her a game like that and play her for 40 minutes. 3-3 from the 3-point line. Alex can shoot that thing. She has been going through a little bit of a slump, but it is good to see her knocking down some threes because she is very capable of doing that."
Thoughts on the game:
"Forced 23 turnovers and got 16 steals. That was what kept us in the game in the first half. We were getting outrebounded. We got our rear-ends kicked on the boards by 10 and that ended up being the final margin. As I always say, rebounding is what wins championships. We are going to have to do a little bit better job of focusing on that. You have to give (Daniella) Motley credit. She is a great offensive rebounder...she scored 16 offensive points and had eight boards. She is a tough matchup. We have to do a lot better job...on some of these great offensive rebounders."
On the second-half run to take control of the game:
"We have had enough of these nail-biters going down to the final minute or so. It was nice to have a game where we had a little bit of a lead and could rotate some people and not have to sweat it out down the stretch. It was a good team win and a lot of people did some good things."
On the depth of the team:
"I told the team our strength is our depth. Our strength is that on a given night, we got a lot of people that can come in and pick us up and help us survive and win that game. I like the way our team...when someone is having an off night, someone else can step up."
