Mocs' DMR Teams Take Second at Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s and women’s Distance Medley Relay teams each finished second Saturday on the final day of the Alabama Relays at the

The Men’s DMR finished second at the Relays with a time of 10:08.54. Patrick O’Brien led off the race with a 3:02.46 in the 1200 meter leg followed by DeQuantez Sandifer with a 49.07 in the 400. John Gilpin ran the 800 leg in a time of 1:57.27 while Lucas Cotter, making his first appearance this season, ran the 1600 meter anchor leg in a time of 4:19.76.

The women’s team was led off by Teghan Henderson who covered the 1200 meter distance in a time of 3:43.95. Maddison Melchionna ran the 400 meter leg in a time of 58.16 while Jessica York ran a time of 2:16.89 for the 800 leg. Kianna Howard anchored the race in the 1600 meter leg with a time of 4:50.57.

Iman Isang posted a 15.8 in the 110 meter hurdles while Rebecca Greenwall ran a 2:17.27 in the 800 and Chandler Rogers placed 25th in the event with a time of 2:20.35.

The team will be back in action next weekend in Atlanta, Ga., at the Yellow Jacket invitational hosted by Georgia Tech.
