Seniors Throw Out First Pitch

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team was honored prior to the home opener for the Chattanooga Lookouts (AA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) Tuesday evening.  On a chilly April night, the Mocs six seniors threw out the first pitch, or should we say first six pitches, for opening night.

 

By all accounts, Kevin Goffney stole the show.  One local newspaper account stated he had the best pitch of the night pro or amateur.  The 6’5” forward thought scouts were on hand as he whizzed a fastball for a strike and excited the crowd of nearly 4,000.

 

“They earned it,” said Head Coach John Shulman.  “This is a special group of seniors, very dear to my heart.  As a family, we endured a lot of ups and downs this season, but they kept us together.”
