The 2008-09 year in men's and women's basketball teams gave fans much to cheer about this season and now it's time to celebrate. The UTC Mocs Club invites the public to this year's annual banquet to celebrate the Southern Conference champions!

The Lady Mocs won a 10th consecutive Southern Conference title this season, an unprecedented feat in league history. Shanara Hollinquest was named the Southern Conference Player of the Year and was joined on the all-conference team by Erin Ogan and Jenaya Wade-Fray. In the league tournament, Tagan Hatchett wowed the crowds with her 3-point shooting and earned a spot on the league's all-tournament team along with Wade-Fray.

The Mocs claimed the North Division title and went on to defeat the College of Charleston in the SoCon Tournament finals and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Mocs received national attention from TV host Jimmy Fallon on his show "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon". As the Mocs prepped to take on No. 1 Connecticut in Philadelphia, Fallon and his audiences cheered on the Mocs from New York.

The UTC cheerleaders, Sugar Mocs, Marching Band and Scrappy, a sledgehammer wielding mockingbird, took their place on stage as did UTC alum Dennis Haskins, a.k.a., "Mr. Belding" from "Saved by the Bell". At the end of the week, the Mocs seniors along with Head Coach John Shulman, made a brief appearance on the show.

Come be a part of the fun. Tickets are on sale at the McKenzie Arena box office (cash or checks only).
