CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 22, 2009) Chattanooga Athletics announced today that Learfield Sports’ Mocs Sports Properties and the Brewer Media Group have reached a five-year agreement for WTZO-FM 105.1 to be the new flagship home for the Mocs.

Beginning this fall, the city’s brand-new ESPN Radio affiliate will carry all football, men’s and women’s basketball game broadcasts as well as the coaches’ shows for football and basketball and Mocs Sports Today, a daily update covering UTC athletics.  Fans can also hear the simulcast of all UTC broadcasts on www.gomocs.com.

“We are excited about the announcement of the Brewer Media Group and WTZO 105.1 FM becoming the new home for the Mocs Sports Network,” said UTC Athletic Director Rick Hart.  “This partnership will allow UTC Athletics to have one location on your radio dial while expanding and enhancing the listening area to accommodate our growing fan base.  We are also thrilled to continue to have first-class broadcasters with both Jim Reynolds and Larry Ward returning as the voices of the Mocs and Lady Mocs.”

"I've been a big fan of UTC for many years and we're looking forward to being the Flagship for the Mocs Sports Network,” said Jim Brewer, II, president of Brewer Media Group.

Hank Cobb, general manager for Mocs Sports Properties, added, “Our goal is to create the best possible radio network for fans, students, alumni and sponsors, and we are excited about our partnership with WTZO and the quality programming we know they’ll provide.”

Mocs Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports, is the multimedia rights holder and sports marketing arm for athletics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  In addition to UTC, the company represents more than 50 collegiate institutions and associations, manages the marketing partnerships for the Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA), titles the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup in partnership with NACDA and the USA Today and provides exclusive sports programming to more than 1,000 radio stations throughout the country.

Dallas-based Learfield Sports is an operating unit of Jefferson City, Mo.-based Learfield Communications, Inc., which made its initial foray into the world of sports marketing in 1975 as the radio rights holder for the University of Missouri.   For more information and a complete listing of Learfield Sports' portfolio, visit www.learfieldsports.com.
