Its summer camp season at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and girls ranging in ages from 8-14 have descended upon the campus for the 2011 Women's Basketball Camp.
Head Coach Wes Moore just completed his 13th season at Chattanooga racking up milestone career win 500 and his 300th at the helm of the Lady Mocs. He, along with his coaching staff and current and former players and staff, opened camp Sunday afternoon and will wrap it up Thursday with awards and recognitions.
Each morning at 8:45 campers gather together for roll call and stretching. From there, the campers move to stations to learn the fundamentals of basketball from dribbling, to defense, to shooting. In the second hour, the participants play 3-on-3 games rotating teams on and off the court. Campers are served lunch in the arena and participate in individual competitions at midday.
After lunch more shooting games and individual stations take place and the day wraps up with full court 5-on-5 games and swimming at the Maclellan Gym pool.
