Faith Dupree (Knoxville, Tenn.) played just two games in her collegiate career before redshirting her freshman season. After sitting out the fall semester of her second year, she transferred to Chattanooga last December and had to sit again. According to NCAA rules, she will remain on the bench one more semester before she can suit up.
However, Dupree is tired of watching from the sidelines and ready to step onto the court. This summer she will get her chance in the Pilot Rocky Top Summer League. This summer marks the second year of the women's summer league and Dupree, a University of Tennessee transfer, will be playing with several of her former teammates.
Current UTK players committed to play are Glory Johnson, Alicia Manning, Alyssia Brewer, Shekinna Stricklen, Taber Spani, Kamiko Williams and Meighan Simmons. Former Lady Vols Brittany Jackson, Courtney McDaniel and Dominique Redding are slated to play along with Dupree.
The schedule is compacted into a two-week period, just one week less than the 2010 season, and begins Monday, June 27 at the Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK).The season tips off on the 27th with games on June 28, June 30 and July 5-7.
