Head Coach Wes Moore
"Again we got off to a slow start. I don't know if we can afford to keep doing that but I was really proud of the way our kids came out in the second half. We were getting beat pretty bad on the boards in the first half. That had happened at their place so we knew that was a critical part of the game. I thought we did a better job in the second half. I thought Whitney Hood in the second half asserted herself on the block and got us going and got us some momentum. Obviously, Taylor Hall down the stretch hitting some big three's for us was a welcome sight. Kylie Lambert did some good things for us offensively. But it was really a team win. I thought defensively our kids were great. They took away their top options and helped each other. It was a great team win from that perspective. Hopefully that's something we can build on going towards the tournament."
On the energy his small lineup brought in the second half
"It was a small lineup but those kids are going to play hard and make plays. Kavonne has done that for us all year. Kayla Freeman just needed an opportunity. She's a different type player than a Whitney Hood or a Faith Dupree in that she's built more to go around people and try to use some quickness and be explosive going to the rim. We thought that would be a nice changeup and it gave us a nice lift."
On his team's hustle
"Kids were getting on the floor and I think defensively it is one of the better jobs we've done playing team defense. People helped each other. Murray for them is a great shooter and scorer. We knew we had to try to slow her down. The kid inside is a handful. I thought our team as a whole did a nice job. It was not just one or two it was a team effort to hold them to 48 points."
On Taylor Hall's play in her last two home games
"She's always played hard. I've never questioned that. When you hit shots you get a little boost of energy too. I think that probably helped as well. That little extra confidence when you knock down some shots will help you on the other end as well. That's what our team needs to feed off of."
Sophomore Taylor Hall, forward
On the Lady Mocs defense in the first half
"We knew that we played pretty good defense in the first half. We had them doing what we wanted to do other than rebounding and knocking down shots. We knew we needed to step that up and hopefully it would just get us some momentum since our defense was doing pretty well."
Thoughts going into the game
"This was a big win for us. They beat us at their place, and we knew we needed to just step it up and get some momentum going into the post season. We knew it would be a tough game because they are really physical. They have some big girls. We just had to go in there and fight back."
Thoughts on senior night
"Our seniors definitely deserved their starts. They work hard every day so they deserve that honor. Capriee Tucker works hard year around and I am glad she got to start."
Freshman Ka'Vonne Towns, freshman
On the Lady Mocs comeback after being down at the half
"We made a complete turnaround with our momentum. We found a lot of energy and just kept going with it."
