Menís Golf Summer Update: Vol. 1

SCOTTISH TRIO ACTIVE TO OPEN SUMMER
The Scottish trio of Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire), Liam Johnston (Dumfries) and newcomer Ewan Scott (St. Andrews) have had an active start since the end of the collegiate season. The trio played in the Scottish Stroke Play Championship and British Amateur, while Robb and Scott also vied for the St. Andrews Links Trophy.

Scott tied for 16th at the Scottish Stroke Play at 291, three shots clear of Robb at 294. Scott also got the better of Robb at the St. Andrews Links Trophy tying for 17th also at 291. The threesome did not advance to match play at the British Am.

GREAT SCOTT!
Scott is already the top-ranked member of the Mocs 2013-14 squad at 237. His ranking is expected to climb rapidly as he has started to play in men’s events. There will be a special feature on GoMocs.com this summer on him, but for now here are his finishes in his impressive starts in men’s events:

Battle Trophy: T2, 292
Lytham Trophy: T18, 298
Irish Am: T4, 296 (1 shot out of three-way tie for 1st)
Scottish Stroke Play: T16, 291
St. Andrews Links Trophy: T17, 291

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Kory Webb (Knoxville, Tenn.) are slated to tee off today, June 20, at the 13th Annual Greystone Invitational. The 72-hole event is played on the Founder’s Course at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. LIVE SCORING

Departing senior Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) is keeping busy. He’ll make his eighth professional start next week at the AT&T National. The tourney is June 27-30 at storied Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. LIVE SCORING

FORMER MOCS UPDATE
Jonathan Hodge (2006-09) has full status on the Web.com Tour. His best finish thus far is tied for 17th at the Brasil Classic Presented by HSBC shooting nine-under par 275. He carded rounds of 67, 68, 67 and 73 for his 72 holes.

Stephan Jaeger (2009-12)) has played on several tours this year including the PGA Tour qualifying for one event. He’s made five Web.com starts making the cut in four. His tie for 11th at the BMW Charity Pro-Am Presented by SYNNEX Corporation was an 18-under effort firing a line of 67, 67, 66 and 68.

This week’s Web.com Tour event is the Rex Hospital Open at TPC Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, N.C. Hodge and Jaeger are in the field. LIVE SCORING
