- The Chattanooga women’s basketball team fought off Georgia Southern for a 69-60 win in Southern Conference action tonight.  UTC improves to 11-3 and 3-0 in league play.  The Eagles fall to 3-11 overall and 1-2 in the SoCon.

- Tonight’s win extends the Mocs school-record home court winning streak to 31 games…second longest current run in the country (Baylor – 67). 

- UTC had a season-high 12 steals in the win.

- Chattanooga was whistled for a season-low nine fouls.

- The Mocs are on a seven-game winning streak overall and have won 19 straight Southern Conference regular season games. 

- UTC was cruising early in the second half, up 42-24 after a Taylor Hall layup with 19:08 left…Georgia Southern only allowed seven points over the next nine minutes, tying the score at 49 on an and-1 by Sierra Kirkland at the 10:19 mark. 

- The Mocs went on a 10-0 run after that to take back control of the game. 

- The Eagles scored 15 points on 16 UTC turnovers…Mocs only got six points on 19 GSU miscues. 

- UTC got 27 points off the bench, led by Ka’Vonne Towns with 11. 

- Chattanooga was outrebounded (32-29) for the first time in five games.

- Head Coach Jim Foster is now just six wins away from 800 for his career (794-310 – 36th Year).

- Alex Black (2-2), Taylor Hall (6-6) and Ka’Vonne Towns (4-4) combined to go 12-12 from the FT line…everyone else was 2-7.    

Alex Black – Sr.-G

- 12 points on 4-6 shooting, 2-3 from 3-pt. range and 2-2 from the FT line.
- Second game in double-figures this season.
- Tied season-high with three assists. 
- Played 22 minutes…second time this season with 20+ minutes.

Ashlen Dewart – Sr.-F
- 11 points on 4-9 shooting, 2-5 from 3-pt. range and 1-1 from the FT line.
- Scored all 11 in the first half. 
- Tied for team-high with five boards.

- Seventh game in double-figures this season.

Taylor Hall – Sr.-F
- Team-high 15 points.
- Shot 4-8 form the field 1-2 from 3-pt. range and 6-6 from the FT line.
- Tied for team-high with five boards.
- Game-high five assists.
- Game-high and career-high six steals … most steals by a Moc this season.

Ka’Vonne Towns – Jr.-G
- 11 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
- Shot 3-5 from the field, 1-3 form 3-pt. range and 4-4 from the FT line.
- Fourth time this season in double-figures. 
- Tied a season-high with three steals.
