CHATTANOOGA, continues its “Season in Pictures” series today recapping a memorable 2013-14. The fourth installment focuses on sophomore Casey Jones.

The New Orleans, La., was a leader on and off the floor starting all 33 games. Click the photo gallery link above for Alex’s season in pictures.

Three-Point Shot: Casey Jones
1) The All-Southern Conference performer averaged 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game leading the Mocs in field goal percentage (53.5%) and tied for the most steals with 40. He added 61 assists (3rd on the squad) and 33 blocks (2nd) while shooting 72.5 percent (95-131) from the free throw line.

2) Top Play: Although there was an array of highlight reel, momentum-changing plays to choose from, Mr. Jones had one play standout and to no one’s surprise, it comes on the defensive end. Martynas Bareika nailed a three-pointer with eight seconds to play at Western Carolina to tie the game at 70-all. The Catamounts in-bounded to star guard Trey Sumler who took the ball the length of the floor. His drive into the paint resulted in a blocked shot and rebound for Jones to send the game into overtime. Casey later made the game-winning basket in an 83-81 thrilling triumph.

3) Best game: With a season like Casey had, this is tough to narrow down. Prior to the season, Head Coach Will Wade lauded Jones’ multiple efforts in practice so we’ll go with a near triple-double effort keying the SoCon opening win at Furman. Casey produced 13 points to go with career highs in rebounds (13) and assists (8). is the official website of the Chattanooga Mocs.  The Mocs can also be followed on their official Facebook page or on Twitter.  Find out how to join the UTC Mocs Club and support more than 300 student-athletes by clicking here.
