Cross Country to Compete against Large Field at Commodore Classic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's and women's cross country teams will head to Nashville for the Vanderbilt University Commodore Classic at the Percy Warner Park.

Both teams are fresh off wins at the season opening UTC PowerAde Invitational last week at the Moccasin Bend Hospital Race Course. Senior Anneli Uys led the Lady Mocs to a narrow 41-43 win over Middle Tennessee State while the men, led by back-to-back Southern Conference Runner of the Year Emmanuel Kirwa, blew away the competition with all five scoring runners finishing in the top eight.

Along with Chattanooga and host Vanderbilt, competing this weekend will be teams from Belmont, Bethel, Blue Mountain, Freed-Hardeman, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee, Murray State, Rhodes, SE Missouri, Tennessee, Tennessee State (women only) Treveca Nazarene, University of the South and Union.

The event is set to start at 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time with the men's 8-kilometer race followed by the women's 5K at 11 a.m. EDT. Results will be available at cfpitiming.com and GoMocs.com following the races.
