Kirwa Named SoCon Runner of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior distance runner Emmanuel Kirwa was selected the Southern Conference men's cross country Runner of the Week the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kirwa, a native of Kapsabet, Kenya, ran a 24:04 on the 8K course at the Greater Louisville Classic over the weekend. He placed 16th overall our of more than 400 runners in the Gold Division. This is the second time this season that Kirwa, a two-time SoCon Runner of the Year, has received this honor.

The Mocs return to action on Oct. 16 when UTC hosts the annual Front Runner Invitational at the Moccasin Bend Race Course.
