CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga seniors Chris Berry (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and Tara Gietema (Knoxville, Tenn.) will compete in their final home cross country meets this weekend as UTC hosts the Front Runner Invitational at the Moccasin Ben Race Course Saturday afternoon.
Berry, a three-time all-conference cross country runner, will lead the Mocs around the 5-kilometer course. Joining Berry on the course will be sophomore Lucas Cotter (Collierville, Tenn.) junior Nathan Wanuch (Mississauga, Ontario), junior Mark Cole (McKenzie, Tenn.) and sophomore Drew Austell (Memphis, Tenn.).
Gietema, an all-conference performer, has led the Lady Mocs throughout the season. She will be joined along the two-mile course by seniors Sarah White-Woerner ( Chattanooga, Tenn.), and Jenna Nick (Columbia, Tenn.) junior Morgan Buchanan (Johnson City, Tenn.) and freshman Keeley Stewart (Winchester, Tenn.). Also seeing action this weekend will be freshman Jessica Philpott (Manchester, Tenn.), sophomore Gabby Cader (Cleveland, Tenn.) and newcomer Margo Sneed (Chattanooga, Tenn.).
Running this weekend will be men' and women's teams from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee State and Trivecca.
The women's two-mile race will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Moccasin Bend Race Course followed by the men's 5K at 4 p.m. Results will be available at GoMocs.com following the event.
