Wanuch Named All-Region by USTFCCA
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior Nathan Wanuch (Mississauga, Ontario) was named all-region by the United State Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for his performance at the NCAA South Region meet last week.

Wanuch led the Mocs to a sixth place finish in the meet, moving Chattanooga up six spots from its 12th place pre-race ranking. He finished 20th overall in the meet and just missed earning an at-large bid to the NCAA National Championships by one spot. Wanuch ran the 10-kilometer Apalachee Regional Park course in a time of 31:10.4 and was named all-region by the NCAA as well for the Top 25 finish.

The Mocs led all teams from the state of Tennessee across the finish line with East Tennessee State placing seventh followed by Tennessee in eighth and Memphis ninth. Other teams from the Volunteer State were Lipscomb (16th), Vanderbilt (22nd) and Tennessee Tech (24th). Southern Conference foe Samford placed 18th in the event.

Up next for Chattanooga is the track and field indoor season set to start in December at Middle Tennessee State.
