Postgame Quotes vs. Elon
Chattanooga Head Coach Shulman
Thoughts on game
"We didn't practice. We talked. We met and talked about what's in our heart and gut. For them to come out and absolutely risk it all, I commend them. After Thursday, to come back two nights later and beat the best team in the north, I think that's pretty special. However, the results of tonight were going to reveal our character."

On how Chattanooga responded late in the game
"We responded, but Rico cant turnover that ball or the game is over. We made enough free throws and got enough stops to make it a great win. After Thursday though, it is a fantastic win."

McGhee's block in the lane in the final two minutes of the game.
"McGhee can't even touch the rim. That is getting out of your comfort zone. We got out of our comfort defensively and we were phenomenal. Casey Jones did a great job of getting out his comfort zone and playing tight defense. Tonight was a life lesson game after Thursday night."

 On attacking the basket
"We did a great job of getting to the foul line on Thursday night, too. We have almost made more free throws this year than our opponents have shot. Normally, that is a good sign. Thursday night we went to the foul line 19 times in the first half, with UNCG going zero times and were down by 18. We have had some fluke stuff happen to us, but we continue to battle through the adversity."

 Thoughts on McGhee's performance
"McGhee hasn't looked like a freshman in a long time. That is why he is going to be fun to watch in the next few years. It's nice when you only have one guy leaving on senior night."

Gee McGhee, freshman, guard
Thoughts on rebounding after a tough loss
"Just being focused and taking practice more seriously. Then getting our minds right and just grinding helped too. We were very focused. We laid an egg on Thursday and we wanted to redeem ourselves to make a good name for the city of Chattanooga."

Thought on the final drive of the game
My defender got out of the lane and so I stepped up to make the play. I don't know how I did it, I just did. I was smiling after I did it. I've never done anything like that in my life."

The change in offense and becoming more aggressive
I see if I drive the ball, if they help up then I can dish it out. If they don't help up then I can go to the goal, get fouled, and score. I'm just trying to help my team anyway I can really."

Z. Mason, junior, forward
Thoughts on rebounding after a tough loss
"Just working. With this fast turnaround you have to focus. Elon is a good team and number one in our division. We can't dwell on the loss on Thursday. We have to just keep moving forward. We did a good job of staying on task tonight."

Thoughts on the offense becoming more aggressive
"It helps me and the whole offense out. When you have guys like McGhee that gets doubled down low, it gets guys open shots and bigs easy lay ups. It helps have a more fluent offense when we have guys that can get to the paint."

On the momentum this win brings to Chattanooga
"It's momentum. It's something we wanted to have Thursday going into that game and we didn't end up playing our best. Beating Elon is big. They're number one in our division. We have to take this momentum and carry it over into the last few games."

Elon Head Coach Matt Matheny

Thoughts on the game
"I thought it was a really tight game, a close game, and all around just a good college basketball game. We're disappointed. We've been in a lot of close games lately and I think we are beginning to play well in close games. I felt like tonight was similar to other close games that we have been able to pull it out but we couldn't make enough plays. I thought Chattanooga was aggressive and they attacked in a positive way."

On the game being dangerous for Elon
"As a coach you think of all kinds scenarios. So I was concerned with how we would respond but I think our guys played extremely hard. I don't think we were relaxed at all and I thought we were ready to play. That's a credit to our veteran leadership and I thought we played hard."

On the similarity of tonight's environment versus a SoCon tournament game environment
"I told our guys in the locker room after the game that tonight was very similar to a SoCon tournament game. It was a tough, close, physical battle and that is exactly what it's going to be like in two weeks."

Thoughts on UTC's defense
"I thought they changed defenses very well and I thought they got in and out of defenses very well. We never caught them changing defenses and got a wide open look. I thought they did a really good job of changing it and using it in a way to break our motion offense's rhythm, particularly in the second half."
