New Year’s Eve Party, FCA Breakfast Also on the Southern Scuffle Schedule

Outside of the great wrestling action at this year’s Southern Scuffle, presented by Defense Soap and Flips Wrestling, there are a number of other fun events happening around Chattanooga for all wrestling fans. 

Information has already been released on the Jan. 2 Flips Wrestling Clinic, featuring former NCAA and Scuffle Champion Jordan Oliver.  There is also a New Year’s Eve Party, hosted by the Chattanooga Takedown Club, and a Jan. 2 breakfast, hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 

The Chattanooga Takedown Club is holding its first Southern Scuffle Eve Party at the Waterhouse Pavilion in Miller Plaza in Downtown Chattanooga.  Close to all of the downtown host hotels, the Waterhouse Pavilion is located at 850 Market Street.    

Tickets are $35 for singles and $60 for couples.  This includes food, drinks and great music.  To register or purchase tickets for the party, click here.  Doors open at 8:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) and the party lasts until 1:00 a.m.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is hosting a breakfast on the second day of competition.  This event begins at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 2 in the Tennessee Room of the University Center on the campus of UTC.  Former Ohio State All-American J.D. Bergman will emcee the event with Carl Perry, the National Director for FCA Wrestling, serving as the featured speaker.  Cost for the breakfast is $10.  To register for this event, click here.

Tickets are on sale now on for the 2014 Southern Scuffle, presented by Defense Soap and Flips Wrestling.  Fans can also call the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).  New this season are lower level reserved seats, which are filling up fast.  Be sure to get close to the action by purchasing your tickets now.

The Southern Scuffle is an open tournament open to all college wrestlers and any post high school graduates. Participants are limited to the first 500 entries.
