CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---A major step forward in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s and women’s basketball programs took place today as the Mocs held their first practice in the Chattem Basketball Practice Facility. 

Located in the recently completed Brenda Lawson Student-Athlete Success Center, the Chattem Facility was officially opened as Chattem CEO Zan Guerry made the first basket with a driving layup on the East goal.

“This facility exceeds all expectations,” said Head Men’s Basketball Coach John Shulman.  “This puts us on par with the high majors.  This is home.”

The Chattem Basketball Practice Facility is housed within the Lawson Student-Athlete Success Center which is also home to the Wolford Family Stength & Conditioning Facility.  The Chattem Facility provides both the men’s and women’s basketball programs with a consistent practice presence throughout the year.

The Chattem Facility contains a full practice court that is an exact design of the Mocs' main court in McKenzie Arena.  Also included in the practice facility are four additional practice goals.  Both the men's and women's basketball programs will benefit from this facility throughout the year.
