The Lady Mocs were the Southern Conference winners last season of the "Pack the House" Challenge with more than 7,000 fans in attendance as UTC nearly upset the two-time defending National Champion Lady Vols at the Roundhouse. The Lady Bulldogs posted a 62-51 upset victory over No. 13 Oklahoma in the season opener in Athens and moved up in the AP Top 25 Poll from 21st to 16th. They were ranked 22nd in the ESPN Coaches Poll released Tuesday afternoon. Porsha Phillips and Jasmine James each posted 15 points for Georgia in the win. Last summer she was on the undefeated American squad at the World University Games and averaged 8.3 points per game. The Lady Mocs and Georgia have met 12 times. The Lady Bulldogs have won 11 of those contests including the last meeting in the season-opener of the 2002-03 season at the Roundhouse. Georgia, ranked eighth at the time, came away with a 79-58 win. Chattanooga's lone win was a 79-74 decision home contest in 1980 at Maclellan Gym. East Tennessee State posted an 85-61 win over Chattanooga in the opener in Johnson City, Tenn. Two days later, the Lady Mocs rebounded for a 76-66 win over Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.
