Chris Harr is in his third season as the Mocs tight ends coach. Harr was on the staff in 2012 as a student-assistant after a stellar four-year playing career from 2007-10.
Harr guided Faysal Shafaat to All-American honors as a senior in 2014. Shafaat’s 18 receiving touchdowns rank No. 4 on the Mocs all-time list.
Shafaat led the Mocs with 322 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 35 catches in 2014. Last year, he had 34 grabs for 413 yards and five scores.
A two-time All-SoCon performer at left tackle, Harr signed a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011. He played in the preseason but did not make the final roster.
Harr came to UTC in 2007, playing in nine games at tight end as a true freshman. He switched to right tackle as a sophomore, where he started all 34 games over the next three years. As a junior, he was a second-team All-SoCon pick, and the league coaches gave him first team recognition after his senior year.
Harr finished his degree in Health & Human Performance in December. He is married to the former Brittany Eason, a three-time All-SoCon softball player at UTC from 2007-10.
