Teresa Adcox is a 22-year veteran of UTC and has worked several positions in both University and Athletics administration. Her UTC career began in the University Bursar's Office in 1990. After three years, she moved to the University Payroll Office.
Adcox joined the athletics staff in 1998 where she served as an administrative assistant for the marketing and ticketing departments as well as the women's basketball coaching staff. She took over the role of administrative assistant for football in August, 2003, and also serves the women's basketball staff.
Adcox has served on various campus committees. She was elected as Chair of the Employee Relations Committee in 1996 and was Chair of the Staff-Faculty Appreciation Day, spending four years on each committee. She was honored as the UTC Chancellor's Blue Ribbon Award recipient in September, 1997, for going the extra mile to help fellow employees.
Prior to joining UTC, Adcox worked at Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Ga. for President and founder Sid Williams.
Born and raised in Chattanooga, Adcox graduated from Antioch High School in Nashville. The former Teresa Waters and her husband, John have been married for 34 years. John is employed by Day & Zimmerman, contractor for Sequoya Nuclear Plant. The couple has two daughters, Shannon and April, and six grandchildren, Tayler, Madison, Kaleb, Bryson, Kate and Phalynn.
