The Chattanooga Mocs wrestling team is one month away from the start of the 2010-11 season and are busy preparing for a run at their seventh consecutive Southern Conference Championship. However, the Mocs are still finding time to give back to the Chattanooga community through various service projects.
Last weekend the team worked two Saturday shifts, volunteering for the local Habitat for Humanity in the Alton Park neighborhood of Chattanooga. Not only were the Mocs engaging the local community through their volunteerism, they also garnered some excellent publicity for the program. The following story - UTC Wrestlers Help Habitat Work - ran in Sunday's edition of the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Be sure to check out the photo gallery included at the top of the page. There is also a slide show of photos included in the story on the Times Free Press website - www.timesfreepress.com.
The Mocs open the season on Saturday, Nov. 6 when they take on Kent State in Winston-Salem, N.C. The first home match of the year is on Sunday, Nov. 14, in a double-header against Liberty and Cumberland at 2:00 p.m.
