Lisa Tarr joined the UTC Athletics Department in the spring of 2011 and servers as the Academic Advisor for the Mocs Football program.  A native of Melbourne, Fla., she began working at UTC in February of 2010 in the Center for Advisement and Student Success.

Tarr serves on the First Year Reading Experience (FYRE) committee for UTC, a new program that kicked off with the incoming freshman class of 2011.  She has also worked at Georgia Tech, Southern Polytechnic State and Kansas State during her career.

Prior to coming to UTC in February 2010, Tarr worked for eight years as the Children's Librarian for the City of Smyrna, Ga.  There she had the single goal of promoting literacy and the love of reading.

Tarr holds both a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Master's Degree in Student Personnel Higher Education from the University of Georgia.  She has one adult daughter, Hannah.  In addition to enjoying cheering the Mocs on to victory, one of her favorite outside interests is growing the best tomatoes in the state of Tennessee.
