CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Chattanooga Lady Mocs softball team dropped a series, 2-1, in Statesboro, Ga., against Georgia Southern. Highlights from the action can be seen in the embedded video to the right.

Chattanooga and Georgia Southern split the first day. The Lady Mocs fell in game one 2-0 before rebounding for a 9-4 win in the second as the team notched 12 hits. Senior catcher Vivian Morimoto (Sao Paulo, Brazil) tallied a career-high four hits, while driving in four runs including a two-run homer.

The teams played a contest to decide the series on Sunday with Georgia Southern earning the win, 6-2. Senior shortstop Jessica Traxler (Chino Hills, Calif.) had the key hit in the game, a two-out two-RBI double in the seventh.

Chattanooga returns to action of Friday at Frost Stadium with a doubleheader against Elon beginning at 1 p.m. The finale of the series is set for Saturday at the same time.
