CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs teamed up to help the UTC Class of 2016
freshmen move into their dorms Thursday morning. It was truly a team effort
with football, volleyball and wrestling trolling the parking lots and sidewalks
around Boling and Johnson-Obear Buildings to aid their new comrades.
There was an
out-pouring of support campus-wide for 2012 Operation Move-In. Campus
organizations, sororities, etc., were there to lend a helping hand. The Mocs student-athletes
were there to help carry items as well as hand out a few of their own.
Student-athletes were
quick to grab a box, refrigerator, rack of clothes and take direction from
students and parents happy to receive the help. They also took time to engage
their new classmates passing out schedule cards for fall sports and talk with
students and parents discussing the team and outlook toward their respective
seasons.
Today was just the
first day and was focused on freshmen move-in. Saturday is the date when
upperclassmen are returning to campus.
