University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis duo Kaylene Chadwell and Jenna Nurik recently received a preseason national ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Lady Mocs' pair is No. 58 in the nation after going 13-4 last season, including a win in the Gold Flight of the 2011 UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic.
Nurik and Chadwell were the only Southern Conference tandem listed in the ITA's top-60. Nurik, a senior from Roswell, Ga., is a three-time All-SoCon selection. She had an overall doubles record of 24-13 last season.
Chadwell (Franklin, Tenn.) was the 2012 SoCon Freshman of the Year after posting a team-high 25 doubles wins. She and Nurik went 5-0 as a pair in spring dual action.
The Lady Mocs start the season with the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic on Sept. 28-30. Action takes place at the Champions Club in Chattanooga. The Lady Mocs are coming off a 16-6 record in 2012, their most wins since 1999.
