CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team returns to the tee Friday at the Mercedes-Benz Women's Championship in Knoxville. Chattanooga is one of 14 teams in the field at Holston Hills Country Club.

It's the third outing of the season for the Mocs. It's the second time all six team members will compete as well. Like the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup to open the year, one of UTC's talented group will play as an individual.

The lineup for the Mercedes-Benz features juniors Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) and Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.), sophomore Porsche Campbell (Vancouver, Canada) and freshmen Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia). Sophomore Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) will play as the individual this weekend.

HEAD COACH
COLETTE MURRAY (Jacksonville State '04) is in her sixth year as a head coach, all at Chattanooga.  The Mocs have 12 team titles with nine medalists under her watch.

LAST TIME OUT
Chattanooga finished 14th at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship. Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) paced the Mocs tying for 28th shooting 229 (+13).

UP NEXT
The Mocs play their final tourney of the fall slate heading to conference-rival Furman, October 26-28. The 54-hole Lady Paladin Invitational is played at the Furman Golf Club. Chattanooga won the event in its last visit in 2010.

NOTES
 - One change to the lineup, freshman Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) returns to the starting five healed from her hand injury sustained prior to the Cardinal Cup. Sophomore Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) will compete as an individual this weekend.
 - Mercedes-Benz Collegiate history for the Mocs:

 - Britt is the team leader in pars (70), par/better holes (75.9%), fewest bogeys (3.67/rd) and fewest others (0.67/rd). She is tied for second with 12 birdies. Her 4.15 average is tops on par 4s.
 - Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia) leads the squad with 15 birdies (2.5 per round). Her five in the final round of the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship tied Porsche Campbell's (Vancouver, Canada) first round of the season for team high. McLennan's nine for the event is a team best thus far in 2012-13. She is also leading in par 3 (3.17) and par 5 scoring (5.00).
 - Britt, Campbell and Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) are tied for second behind McLennan with 12 birdies.
 - Duvernay has proven strong in season openers. Last year, she notched the best finish of her young career with a tie for fifth at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. She bested that this year tying for fourth at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup.
 - Duvernay's 219 (+3) is a new low 54-hole total. She did it with eight birdies, 35 pars and 11 bogeys. It was her first full tournament without a score higher than bogey.
 - Campbell opened her UTC career with a level-par round of 72. It included a team-best five birdies. She is a sophomore transfer from the University of British Columbia.
 - Kryger is second to Britt in pars with 66 (11.0/rd)
 - The 2011-12 Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team again ranked among the nation's smartest. UTC was No. 21 overall and No. 10 among NCAA Division I programs according to the National Golf Coaches Association. The Mocs had a combined grade point average of 3.621 for the academic year. That total was just a tick off of 2010-11's 3.649 that ranked 20th overall and 13th in Division I. Maju Loza and Kryger paced the academic effort with perfect 4.0 GPA's for the year. Loza majors in Mechanical Engineering, while Kryger studies are in Communications.
 - Duvernay just missed the top 10 at the European Amateur shooting a level-par total of 284. She shot rounds of 67, 70, 73 and 74 at Diners Golf and Country Club in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was her top summer finish against a strong field.
 - Kryger had a very active summer schedule. Her best finish came in her home country of Denmark. She ended up third at the Danish International Ladies Championship in Silkeborg Golf Club. Kryger was a semifinalist at the Danish Ladies Match Play.
 - McLennan won three times with 14 other top 10s since 2010 playing in junior, women's amateur and pro events. She was the 2010 and 2011 Tasmanian Girls Masters Champ as well as the 2010 New Caledonia Open (pro event) winner. She went to the same golf academy in Australia as PGA Tour golfer Jason Day.
 - Loza is a freshman following in the footsteps of her sister Maria Juliana who just completed her four-year career in May. 
 - She owns wins on two continents. She won the 2011 Colombia National Championship and AJGA Preseason Junior at the Bridges. She also qualified for the 2011 U.S. Women's Amateur.
 - Campbell is a three-time junior winner in Canada. She competed in four events for the University of British Columbia (NAIA) in 2009-10.
 - The six Mocs come from six different countries: Britt (American), Campbell (Canadian), Duvernay (French), Kryger (Danish), Loza (Colombian) and McLennan (Australian).
