The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga put 21 student-athlete on the 2012 Fall Academic All-Southern Conference Team the league office announced this week. The Mocs also had three student-athletes maintain a perfect 4.0 cumulative g.p.a. through the 2012 fall semester.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average entering the fall season and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team's competitions during the recently-concluded fall campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours in the previous two semesters.
Football freshman Bryn Oliver (Pre-Major), cross country sophomore Patrick O'Brien (Chemistry) and volleyball senior Christina Teter (Biology) were the three UTC student-athletes with a 4.0 g.p.a. There were six members of the Mocs football team, seven men's and women's cross country runners, three volleyball players and five soccer student-athletes from Chattanooga who made the Academic All-SoCon team.
