University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head coach Russ Huesman announced the hiring of Chris Harr as the Mocs' tight-ends coach today. Harr was on the staff in 2012 as a student-assistant after a four-year playing career from 2007-10.
A two-time All-Southern Conference performer at right tackle, Harr signed a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011. He played in the preseason but did not make the final roster.
2012 tight ends coach Wesley Satterfield slides over to running backs for his second year on the staff. He fills the role left open when Thomas Brown moved on earlier in the week.
Harr came to UTC in 2007, playing in nine games at tight end as a true freshman. He switched to right tackle as a sophomore, where he started all 34 games over the next three seasons. As a junior, he was a second-team All-SoCon pick, and the league coaches gave him first team recognition after his senior year.
Harr finished his degree in Health & Human performance in December. He is married to the former Brittany Eason, a three-time All-SoCon softball player at UTC from 2007-10.
