Chattanooga Head Coach Wes Moore
Thoughts on game
"First of all, what a great crowd. It was a fun atmosphere and I appreciate everyone that came out. I don't know if everyone appreciates it the way I do, but we go to a lot of SEC schools where there's 500 people there. We know how fortunate we are to have the fans and people of Chattanooga supporting us. I thought it was a team win. A gutsy win. It wasn't always pretty. We struggled offensively in the second half, and it's going to be good to have a couple of days of practice this week where we aren't preparing for an opponent. We can focus on what we do and get better. So many people contributed and made big plays. I thought Ashlen Dewart did her best job on the boards all season by getting 12 of them, and five offensively. Kavonn Towns went in there and got a few, and she had a big steal down there in the corner in the last five seconds or so. Then we had balanced scoring. We had four people in double figures. Taylor Hall got the big offensive rebound off the missed free throw and made her two free throws which pretty much iced the game. A lot of people contributed. Kayla Christopher and Ashlen had a good game."
Thoughts on the rest of the season
"This is the first chapter. I wish this was the end of the book, and we can say great year and move on, but it's the first chapter. We're going to see them again at their place. That will be a big challenge, and we could see them in the post-season. It's a big win. You need to protect your home court, but it's early. We're halfway through the conference and we have a long way to go."
Thoughts on offensive struggles
"We struggled offensively some, and I have to take the blame for that. We turned it over too much. We have work to do, and we have five weeks to finish the season at their place. We have to be a better team in five weeks and in March. You have to keep improving and keep working or we're going to fall behind. You can see there's not a whole lot of margin for error just by looking at this game. We have to keep getting better."
Thoughts on Anna Freeman
"Our kids did a great job. She probably missed a couple that she would normally make. Kylie and Tatianna did a very good job. She's a tough person to defend. Again, I mentioned the word with Kylie, but with Freeman's versatility and her scoring, she post you up, take you off the bounce, knock down the three, and then she's big on the offensive boards. She's a tough matchup. You got to give Kylie and Tatianna a lot of credit for the job they did."
Thoughts on rebounding
"We won the rebound battle by two and got 16 offensive boards. We knew coming in that their transition and offensive rebounding was great. So we knew had to try take away the easy buckets, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that."

Thoughts on the game
"It was really fun and gave me a pretty good feeling. I feel this win is a bit more special, but in the conference every game is big. There isn't a team that you can take it easy on, but tonight was definitely a good win for us."
Thoughts on the game's physicality
"Our bodies are worn out, but that is just a part of the game. We just have to be ready and we have methods to help us recovery, but this week will definitely be great to recover and work on ourselves a little bit. I knew this would be a physical game and how they play. They play hard and rough, but that's how it usually is in the post. That's one thing we knew coming into the game. We knew it was going to be a battle and I thought we handled it pretty well."
Thoughts on scoring drought
"As Taylor mentioned, Appalachian State throws a lot of different defenses at you in one game and it can be hard to adjust sometimes. A lot of us weren't looking to score in the second half, but I think we kept ourselves very composed. I thought we fought hard and I'm proud of this team."

Thoughts on coming away with the close win
"It feel really good, we knew someone had to hit a shot. The free throws at the end also gave us a bit of a comfort zone and we were able to knock them down. That didn't allow us to relax on defense, but took a little of the pressure off."
On the team's performance
"We know we can beat them and it should not have happened. We didn't play our game, rebound well, or do the little things it takes to win in the tournament. At the same time, this is just a regular season game and when it comes tournament time we have to show what we can do."
Thoughts on the team's efforts
"I thought we did a pretty good job. They're very scrappy with the various defenses, presses and zones. So I thought we hung right with them and crashed the offensive boards pretty well."
On how the Lady Mocs came away with the win
"I think of the way have been playing is because we are veteran team. Were used to pressure situations and know to overcome them. We have done a great job handling these situations, not stressing over it and keeping our composure."
