The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis match with Lee University has been postponed today due to inclement weather.  A makeup time will be announced at a later date.  The Lady Mocs are still scheduled to open Southern Conference action with two matches this weekend.

UTC travels to Boone, N.C., for the SoCon opener against Appalachian State on Friday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.).  UTC returns home on Sunday, March 3, to host Western Carolina.  Match time against the Catamounts is set for 12:00 p.m. on the UTC Tennis Courts.  A link for live scoring for the WCU match is available on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.

The Mountaineers are 7-2 overall and led by senior Ellie Linsell's 8-0 record at No. 1.  Their two losses came against East Carolina (3-4) and last week against East Tennessee State (1-6).  They are coming off a 7-0 win over Presbyterian on Sunday.  Chattanooga won last year's match 6-1 on the UTC Tennis Courts.

The Catamounts are 1-3 on the year with a 5-2 win over Presbyterian College.   The Lady Mocs won the previous meeting 7-0 in Cullowhee, N.C. on April 6, 2012.

The Lady Mocs have been dominating opponents, only allowing two points in the first eight contests.  Chattanooga is 46-2 in singles and has lost a total of eight sets in those 48 matches.  UTC is also an impressive 18-3 in doubles.

UTC's 8-0 start is the best for the program since opening the 1991 campaign 10-0.  The current winning streak included a school-record run of five consecutive shutouts.

The Lady Mocs are led by senior Jenna Nurik (Roswell, Ga.), who is off to an 8-0 start in singles action.  Nurik is trying to become the first Lady Mocs to be named All-SoCon for four straight years.

Sophomore Claire Mulyadi (Semarang, Indonesia) and freshmen Kayla Jones (Memphis, Tenn.) are also 8-0 in singles.  Junior Alexa Flynn (Memphis, Tenn.) is undefeated in three matches while sophomore Kaylene Chadwell (Franklin, Tenn.) and has a 7-1 record.

Jones and freshman Kelsey Coots (Huntsville, Ala.) lead the way in doubles with a 5-1 mark at No. 1.  Chadwell and Nurik are also 5-1 at No. 2 and 10-2 overall.
