CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga men’s and women’s tennis teams will host non-conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Complex. The women will honor senior Beata Knizat prior to the match in the Lady Mocs home finale. Both matches will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Knizat has sat out most of the year after suffering a season-ending injury. She went 3-2 through the first five matches of the season posting wins over opponents from Belmont, UNC Asheville and Middle Tennessee. In doubles, she went 2-1 with partner Jennemieke van der Veek defeating teams from Belmont and UNC Asheville.
The match was added to the schedule midway through the season to fill the spot left empty when Chattanooga was forced to cancel its match against Murray State earlier this season due to inclement weather.
The Lady Mocs are 6-13 overall and 2-7 in league play. Tennessee Wesleyan’s women are 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference.
The men will take on the Bulldogs in the non-conference match up. The Mocs are 1-16 overall and 0-9 in Southern Conference action. Tennessee Wesleyan is 3-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
