The Chattanooga Lady Mocs softball team fell to Georgia Southern on Friday afternoon, 5-2, in the winner’s bracket final of the Southern Conference Tournament in Boone, N.C. The Lady Mocs will need to win three games on Saturday to claim the program’s 12th tournament title and the fight begins at 11 a.m. against tonight’s winner of College of Charleston and Elon.
The Chattanooga softball needed some late inning hits from seniors Jessica Traxler (Chino Hillis, Calif.), an RBI single, and Michelle Fuzzard (Huntington Beach, Calif.), a two-run homer, to propel the Lady Mocs over Furman, 5-8, on Sunday afternoon at Frost Stadium. The contest served as the final home contests as 320 fans came out to support seniors Vivian Morimoto (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Fuzzard and Traxler.

Senior catcher Vivian Morimoto (Sao Paulo, Brazil) launched two home runs in game one, while classmate shortstop Jessica Traxler (Chino Hills, Calif.) increased the Lady Mocs the lead to two during game two with a round tripper in the second.
