The Chattanooga Mocs softball team and Head Coach Frank Reed signed on seven newcomers for the 2018 season during the early fall signing period.

The class of 2017 includes two pitchers, two middle infielders, two catchers and an outfielder. Two of the signees will help with versatility as part-time utility players.

Alison Swinford, a Dalton, Ga., native, is a pitcher who is three-year captain for Dalton High School and currently plays out of the Frost Falcons travel team. She is a three-time 7A Region Pitcher of the Year winner and was most recently named to the 2016 All-State First Team. In addition to her athletic achievements, she earned academic excellence (3.75+ GPA) three years straight and was awarded the 2016 GPA award with a 3.95 GPA.

Lexi Veamoi joins the Chattanooga Mocs as a pitcher, utility player and claims Athens, Ga., as her home town.  Her senior year at Athens Christian School concluded with four school records including most homeruns (9) and doubles (14) in a season while adding most homeruns (24) and runs batted in (132) in a career. She hit over .500 in the 2016 season and was named Region 8A Player of the Year, First Team All-Region and First Team All-State.

Kacie Lynch, Jackson, Tenn., is a middle infielder who plays for Jackson Christian High School and the Tennessee BallHawks '97 travel team. Lynch was the varsity captain in high school while being named All-Tournament and All-District for all four years. Academically, she is a member of the National Honors Society and a graduate of Leadership University.

Lexee Lamoree, a catcher and corner infielder, is from Knoxville, Tenn., and is a four-year starter for Farragut High School and plays travel ball for the Tennessee Fury Platinum organization in Chattanooga. Lamoree has been selected All-State the last two seasons while being named to the Knoxville News Sentinel All-Prep Xtra, All-Knoxville Interscholastic League and All-District teams. She was recently named Farragut High School's Female Wendy's Heisman winner and maintains a 4.25 GPA while being an active member of the Spanish Honor Society.

Aly Barfield, Tullahoma, Tenn., plays the middle infield, is a four-year varsity starter for Tullahoma High School and plays travel ball for the Tennessee Comets. She was named All-District as a junior and was part of a district championship her sophomore year. Barfield led the team in runs batted in and stolen bases this past season while hitting north of .400. While playing for the Comets, the team notched the 2016 ISA World Series Championship.

Cameren Swafford is a native of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and attends Soddy Daisy High School where she is a four-year letter winner in both softball and volleyball. A catcher, Swafford was named to the All-District and 'Best of Preps' award teams. She plays travel ball for the Frost Falcons '99 Duggard team. Academically, she holds a 4.0 GPA.

Madison Harris, LaFayette, Ga., will play outfield and provide utility work for the Mocs as a signee from LaFayette High School. A member of the track, basketball and softball teams in high school, Harris provides athleticism. She was named to the Region 6-AAAA All-Region and Walker County Dream Team first teams and earned All-County honorable mention during her career. Harris helped guide her high school to the state playoffs, appearing for the first time in almost a decade.

The 2017 Chattanooga Mocs softball season is set to begin in early February and will host a multi-team tournament during the month as well. More information including the full schedule release, media guide and ticket information will be released in the coming weeks on GoMocs.com.
